When my kids were little (the youngest is now 21!) and couldn't play outside, we used to take a can of shaving cream and spray it on the kitchen table...they could "finger paint" to their hearts' content! It kept 'em busy, encouraged creativity, and it cleaned the table beautifully...multitasking at it's finest, yes? :)
